Screen protector repair guides: The eye is not very good at blocking blue light. Anterior structures of the adult human eye (the cornea and lens) are very effective at blocking UV rays from reaching the light-sensitive retina at the back of the eyeball. In fact, less than one percent of UV radiation from the sun reaches the retina, even if you aren’t wearing sunglasses. (Keep in mind, though, that sunglasses that block 100 percent of UV are essential to protect these and other parts of the eye from damage that could lead to cataracts, snow blindness, a pinguecula and/or pterygium, and even cancer.) On the other hand, virtually all visible blue light passes through the cornea and lens and reaches the retina.

Then use the same method to pry the other three corners of the screen protector, and use a little more force when smashing, so that the four sides of the screen protector can be pulled up. After the four corners are picked up, grab the lower corner and pull up. Then the whole screen protector will start to loosen, and then pull up the four corners until it is removed. Congratulation: the task of removing the old screen protector is now completed. At this point, the screen protector will automatically stick to the screen and slowly expand to the surrounding area. Avoid dry eyes. As stated above, the primary reason staring at a computer screen is so harmful to your eyes is that you tend to blink less. To combat dry eyes, keep artificial tears nearby and use them when necessary. Other factors that can cause dryness include humidity-controlled offices that pull moisture out of the air and, during the winter, heaters. A desktop humidifier can help introduce moisture into your environment and give your eyes some relief.

Anything above 380 nanometers is not visible to the human eye and cannot be seen. While invisible, these frequencies can still be useful. Some epoxies used in dental work use ultraviolet light to accelerate the chemical process of fixing teeth. Tanning beds use these frequencies to artificially increase tan color (though of course you wouldn’t want to be bathed in it for hours, or you could develop significant health problems).

But too much exposure to UV causes a painful sunburn — and even worse, can lead to skin cancer. These rays also can cause sunburned eyes — a condition called photokeratitis or snow blindness.
